The daughter of dracula (Countess Marya Zaleska played by Gloria Holden) seeks a cure for her vampirism by burning her father's body. After the destruction of her father's body fails to cure her, she seeks the help of a doctor (Jeffrey Garth played by Otto Kruger) for a cure. The doctor is no help to the vampire daughter, so the Countess kidnaps the doctor's girl (Janet played by Marguerite Churchill) and takes her back to Transylvania in Dracula's Daughter.
- Dracula's Daughter would be Carl Laemmle Jr.'s (founder of Universal Pictures) last horror flick in which he had any influence. Universal Pictures would be taken over by creditors right after production ended for the movie.
- When production started on Dracula's Daughter, director A. Edward Sutherland was on board. Due to constant production delays, he moved onto another project. That is when director Lambert Hillyer took over. Even though Hillyer finished the movie, he got paid $5,000 to Sutherland's $17,500.
